things i miss

I miss eating meat that’s really tender

I miss changes in the weather…real ones

I miss autumn

I miss weekend visits to my sister’s in Arkansas

I miss coffee shops with free wireless

I miss ice cream

I miss feeling free to go out at night

I miss dressing up for stuff and feeling pretty

I miss going to church in English

I miss living in a house with 4 girls and a pit-bull

I miss swing dancing

I miss Target

I miss my family

I miss the library

I miss understanding what’s going on around me

and knowing what’s expected of me

Yet with all the things I miss,

the food, the places, the people,

the end of the matter

is that God has brought me here.

Jesus said, "Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.

  1. Ellen, you are amazing.....God is using you...so glad you see it, just hold on to that...the enemy is ferocious...he hates what we do.....II Corinthians 4:16 is helping me right now and I pray it for you as well...Therefore we do not loose heart.....for our light and momentary troubles are acheiving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.....praying that for you as well.

  2. I miss YOU! Do you miss grits and green beans and ham? I had some yesterday and thought of you. No yellow cake, though. I miss fall, too. If you were in Arkansas, you would not be experiencing fall AT ALL. No turning leaves, today it was 92, I haven't had a single opportunity to wear long sleeves. Thinking of yo today and wishing you were here, but knowing that you are where you are supposed to be. Love you. Your sis, Kate
